solar roof tiles

The american company SRS Energy has taken the idea of solar panels design for rooftop to a whole new level by integrating them right into roof tiles. Rather than using flat panels installed over traditional roofing materials, SRS energy has developed solar panel roofing tiles that integrate right into the roof.

The unique design allows the tiles to blend right into the roof, making themselves almost invisible. The tiles are made from a lightweight recyclable plastic that is molded together with a flexible solar cell. While the flexible panel design gathers less energy, it actually reacts to a broader spectrum of light. The tiles are also linked together so that they can operate even if one stops working.

  2. Hope they will be available in Australia soon as they look a bit nicer as those big shiny panels on top of the roof.

can these tiles be used as a complete roof and also can you walk on them as you can on normal roof tiles without breaking them and how do they compare in price and would you be able to generate enough power to sell power back to the electric company and what sort of subsidy would you be able to have rebated from the goverment

I'm the kind of hombre who passions to try hot stuff. Presently I'm fabricating my own photovoltaic panels. I am making it all alone without the aid of my staff. I am utilizing the net as the only way to acheive that. I stumbled upon a very amazing site which explains how to build solar panels and wind generators. The site explains all the steps needed for solar panel construction.

I'm not exactly sure about how correct the info given there is. If some guys over here who have xp with these things can have a peak and give your feedback in the site it would be great and I would highly value it, because I really take an interest in solar panel construction.

Thanks for reading this. U guys are the best.

  7. I guess the best thing about those solar roof tiles is that they don't depend on each other to work. That's an improvement from its predecessors, where each solar cell worked as one unit. Also, they're not a pain to install since they're lightweight. I wonder if they've gained any popularity over the last two years.
