CSIRO workshop on climate change

Today I've participated in a CSIRO workshop to help them investigate the usefulness of a web based tool in conveying possible climate futures and impacts at a range of levels.

During the workshop we were using a computer to investigate different climate change scenarios and were asked to participate in small group discussions about what such scenarios mean to us and our community.

CSIRO does a lot of research on climate change and they've created a tool in which 24 different studies are gathered to project climate change in the future in all parts of Australia with different outcomes depending on low or high emissions contributed by human impact.

It is sure that Australia is warming up like the rest of the world, but if this will be only by .5 degree or >3 degrees depends on the impact we have on reducing emissions.
There is also a strong outcome to drought increase in the sout west corner of Australia which will be hurt most of all of Australia.
Quite interesting to see what is possible, they only need to stick it into a more user friendly interface and it's ready to be used.
